I’m Lars Jansen, the person behind Old Stack Journal. I write about practical AI tools, old-stack web development, solo-builder workflows, small app ideas, WordPress, PHP, automation, and the messy middle of actually building things on the web. OSJ isn’t about chasing every new framework or pretending AI magically replaces understanding. It’s about what helps me build, ship, debug, maintain, and occasionally rescue real projects. Most of what I write comes from work I’m already doing: testing tools, building small apps, improving WordPress workflows, making AI coding assistants useful without letting them take over, and figuring out which ideas are worth finishing. I’m interested in simple stacks, readable systems, useful automation, and old-web common sense applied to modern tools. Old Stack Journal is my place to write down what worked, what didn’t, what I’d use again, and what I’d skip next time.
